This is only a child-friendly version of our main Terms of Service. In the event of conflicts between the child-friendly version and the main Terms of Service the latter will apply.


1. What is this document about?

  • This is an agreement between you and Wysa.
  • The terms apply to your use of our website and all of our software, like the mobile app (the “Wysa App” or "Software").
  • Please read the main Terms of Service along with your parent or legal guardian.
  • By clicking "accept" or by using the Software and Services, you (and your parent or legal guardian) agree to the Main Terms of Service.
  • Wysa gives you permission to use our Software. You cannot sell or transfer the Software to anyone else.

2. What is Wysa Software and Services?

  • The Wysa App is an interactive AI (Artificial Intelligence) space to help you explore your thoughts and feelings.
  • Your interaction with the AI is not with a human.
  • It has tools and exercises to help you manage your emotional well-being.
  • The two main parts are:
    • Wysa’s conversational space (to reflect on your feelings).
    • Wysa’s care library (interactive exercises).
  • Wysa App is for emotional support, not medical help. It does not give medical advice or diagnoses.
  • It is not for emergencies or for people with severe mental health problems.
  • You must be 13 years old or older to use it (or 11+ if your Institution agrees).
Wysa+ Powered Service
  • Wysa+ uses our AI along with Large Language Models (LLM) to improve conversations within Wysa’s conversational space.
  • The AI cannot "free generate" responses like a generative AI chatbot.
  • It may not always work perfectly because AI technology has limits:
    • Do not share your or others’ personal data, unless specifically asked.
    • The AI might misunderstand you.
    • The The AI responses may sound robotic.
    • The AI responses may be repetitive.
Digital Front Door Service
  • This service can be used only if provided by your Institution.
  • It asks you questions to guide you and your family to the right care and support resources offered by your Institution.
CYP Service
  • This service can be used only if provided by your Institution.
  • This service is for users generally between 13 and 17 years old.
  • It helps young people build emotional strength.
  • It can suggest local services if you need more support.
Wysa Coach Service (“Coach”)
  • This service can be used only if you subscribe or if provided by your Institution.
  • The Coach is a human mental health and well-being professional you can talk to.
  • Rules for talking with the Coach:
    • Do not share sensitive personal information (like medical or financial records) unless needed for care.
    • It is provided by text message or where provided, by audio-video.
    • The Coach is not a replacement for face-to-face therapy or medical treatment.
    • The Coach does not give medical advice; they help with emotions and well-being goals.
    • It is not for emergencies.
    • You need to give permission and emergency contacts before your first session.
    • Your text chats are stored for you, but audio/video sessions are not recorded.
    • Other Wysa coaches may see your messages for quality checks.
    • Be polite and follow good manners.
Wysa Medical Assistant Enabled Services
  • This service can be used only if provided by your Institution.
  • Medical Assistants help you live healthier lives, like taking medicine on time or keeping appointments.
  • They are allied health professionals working under the supervision of your Institution.
  • They do not prescribe medicines or dosages.
  • They will share information, including notes, with your doctor or Institution.
Digital Referral Assistant (“DRA”)
  • This service can be used only if provided by your Institution.
  • The DRA is an interactive AI space that collects and shares information with your Institution for your care purposes.
  • It is intended for adults of age 16 or older.

3. Your use of the Software

  • You must use the Software for personal purposes only.
  • You agree not to do these things:
    • Copy, change, or try to sell any part of the Software.
    • Use programs like "robots" or "spiders" to access the app.
    • Send spam or chain letters.
    • Try to break the app's security.
    • Collect or steal data from the app.
    • Do anything that puts a heavy load on our system.
    • Introduce viruses or harmful software.
    • Pretend to be someone else.
    • Use the Software for commercial business.

4. Your Content You Share with Us ("User Content")

  • "User Content" is anything you post, like your messages and actions.
  • You still own your User Content.
  • You allow Wysa and your Institution to view, edit, and share your User Content to provide the service.
  • You agree not to post or send content that:
    • Could cause harm, loss, or injury to yourself, or others.
    • Is unlawful, abusive, hateful, mean, or threatening.
    • Is illegal (like sharing trade secrets).
    • Shares personal information about others without their permission.

5. Data Protection

  • We only ask for your personal data if your Institution requires us to.
  • Read our Privacy Policy to see how we protect and handle your data.
  • Wysa uses data (after making it anonymous) for research to improve our services.


6. Termination and Changes

  • Wysa can end your use of the app if you break the terms of use.
  • If the agreement with your Institution ends, you must stop using the Software.
  • We may change these terms or update the Software. We will notify you of changes. If you do not accept changes, you may not be able to keep using the Software.


7. Warranty and Liability

  • The service is provided "as is." This means Wysa cannot promise that:
    • The information is always accurate or correct.
    • The app will always be available without problems or errors.
    • The app is free of viruses.
  • Wysa is responsible for loss or damage caused by us breaking these rules.
  • Wysa is not responsible for business losses, as the app is for personal use only.
  • The information given by the Software (like tool suggestions) is for general educational purposes only. You must get professional advice before taking any action.
